Out of the Dark is Linda Caine’s remarkable and uplifting story from the agonies of mental breakdown to the painful piecing together of the past that was vital for her survival. Both her courage and her psychotherapist Robin’s persistence during the process show the power of the human spirit at its most indomitable and inspiring.

‘Out of the Dark’ was released in hardcover in the United Kingdom in April, 2003. The first print was for 12,000 copies, but the book had to go into a second print immediately because the pre-orders exceeded that number. On April 13, 2004, ‘Out of the Dark’ was published in paperback and, by April 25th, it was listed third in the Autobiographical section of the Sunday Times Top Ten Bestseller paperback list. It remained on bestseller lists for most of the remainder of the year, and sold almost a quarter of a million books in that time.

It was also translated into German, Dutch, Hebrew and Swedish, for publication in Germany, Holland, Israel and Sweden, respectively.
